The History of Pigsty Racing

Pigsty Racing was established in 1979 by Tim Myall. Tim trained as an engineer in the RAF before starting his career in commercial aeronautical engineering.  Tim started racing Austin Sevens in 1979 and went on to win many races with clubs such as the VSCC and 750 Motor Club. Tim is still racing and set the fastest lap at the 750 MC festival at Silverstone this year.

The first car, The Pigsty Special, was built from a chassis which was found in an unlikely situation; Supporting the tin roof of an old pigsty! The chassis was purchased and the car was built. The Pigsty Special has had a long and very successful history in 750 Motor Club and VSCC Austin Seven racing, building up a reputation for being one of the very quickest cars out there.

Given the reputation of the car with it's unforgettable name it was decided that the company should also be be called Pigsty. Building cars and engines to customer specifications, the company quickly gained momentum and became the most prevalent builder of racing Austin Sevens in the world.

Now run by Tim's son, Alex who has had more than ten year's experience in motorsports engineering. Pigsty Racing continues to go from strength to strength with lots of customers cars competing in 750 Motor Club, VSCC and Bert Hadley series events this season.
